When did you start freelancing and what inspired you?

I started freelancing in 2011 when I finished my graphics designing course. I chose to freelance because I wanted to stay connected to my hometown and work without shifting to any city. And freelancing provided me the opportunity to contribute as a remote work designer. It’s been 11 years now my freelance journey is amazing so far.

What do you like the most about Graphic Designing?

The best part about Graphic Designing is that it is a medium where a designer can showcase their ideas, thoughts, and emotions through their design skills, and that is what I like about Graphic Designing. One needs to have a passion for their work, and I am very passionate about designings. My love for drawing and designing led me to this career.

What are the most important skills required as a freelance Graphic Designer ?

The most important skill required for graphic designing is the basics of drawing and sketching. The designer needs to visualize and put their creative idea into reality. Other than that, the knowledge of software is also very essential. I have expertise in adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator. Communication skill is another important skill in this field because one should be able to understand the requirements for a design that they need to create and offer.

What are the challenges you have come across in your freelancing career?

In my personal opinion, if you really like your work, you might not face the challenges at all. In fact, passion for own work gives the strength to come across any kind of challenge. Challenges are nothing but the perspective of a situation and how we can handle it.

What according to you does it take to be a successful Graphic Designing freelancer?

According to me, patience, continuity, and improving skills are the most important tools of a successful freelancer. Designing the field requires utmost patience to get to the final design. We can expect others to like the design once we love our design, thus we have to always keep improving our work and be persistent in doing it.

What suggestions do you want to give to budding Graphic Designing freelancers? 

The first thing that I did in my early days was, that all day I submitted designs on logo/graphics design competitions. This habit gave me the right practical skills for designing because the theory is not enough. Learn the art of sending a proposal, and waiting for the job. To be honest, there is no overnight success in freelancing, always be patient. Happy freelancing.
