[Featured Freelancer] Meet Roxana, An Amazing Content Writer from Argentina.

January 11, 2018 by Mohd Danish

Continuing with our series of featured freelancers, today, we proudly present to you an Amazing Content Writer Roxana Acosta Sosa who is always known for her outstanding content.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Roxana and I am from Argentina but I am residing in India since 2 years ago.

I love writing since I was 10 years old when my mother gave me my first diary. I wrote every day and I read a lot to develop my vocabulary in different areas. I also decided to study English in order to write in my native language (Spanish) and be able to extend my work to English speakers. This skill also gave me the opportunity to do translations.

I can write about a wide variety of topics. Writing is a wonderful world where, for me, it is a great pleasure and I use it as an escape route to get out of the noisy world in which we live, at least for a few hours.

Why and when did you start freelancing?

A little more than a year ago, I had started working in a company developing projects through a virtual platform and the salary that they offered was too low for the projects I carried out, which consisted in documents’ translations. It was then where I thought: “I can do this work from the comfort of my home without having a boss”, so I decided to leave it and develop my talent using my own computer, internet and create unique content for those who have web pages.

What do you like about being a Freelance Content Writer?

Be a freelancer means that you can work with many people from different business developing different tasks without leaving your comfort place. You can manage your own time, you decide with whom to work and you can put your own price on your work or in some cases, have a “deal” with the client.

Be a freelancer is the best because I do not need to take and spend money on any bus or train to go to the office when is raining so I just prepare my tea and I stay in my room wearing my slippers and I start writing!

What are the challenges you have found in your freelance Content Writer as a Career?

I can say that I had some difficult clients because some of them seemed not to know what they needed. To understand what my client need is my goal for then be able to deliver a good project, so you have to have a lot of patience and the dialogue is a must.

I have also had some problems with my work’s price. Many clients want to pay much less for the work I do and that has made me feel that they do not value the time and dedication I give to be able to deliver a content that is 100% original. Then if  I see that the client is really honest from the beginning and likes my work but his budget is low, I can consider having a deal.

FACT FILE: 82% of contractors and freelancers stated that they were proud of their career. They reported 63% actively looking forward to going to work every day.

What according to you does it take to be a successful freelancer?

I think it does not help much if you know how to develop a project very well but you cannot deliver it on time.

Meeting the delivery deadline means having the 80% of the approved project, the rest constitutes the content itself, it can be fixed if the client wants to add or remove something but the lack of fulfilment of time means losing a client.

When a freelancer decides to work on different projects it is because he/she can do it and has enough time to meet all the clients. As in all work areas, you have to know that the client is always right about his project and a happy client will always come back to you.

How did you get to know about Truelancer?

Investigating the different virtual platforms that help you develop your work as a freelancer.

I worked at UpWork platform before and after 6 months, they closed my account saying they did not need me. They told me that I could not develop as a freelance writer because they already had many freelancers who were doing the same. I was surprised and felt discriminated against and when I asked for more explanations they did not give it to me. Fortunately, Truelancer has given me the opportunity and space to grow where I can develop my work without conditions doing what I love.

What do you think about working on Truelancer?

Truelancer is the best platform. They give you freedom, also their support team helps you with everything you need when you have doubts and the help is immediate, you do not need to send emails asking for some help, you can chat directly with the administrator right away!

They also advise and recommend projects so you can talk to the client directly, It is the best way to help you grow. Definitely, Truelancer was my best decision.
