Last week we featured the inaugural post in the series of Digital Superstars on Pat Flynn. Today we explore the life of Harsh Agrawal, the digital superstar from India.
Who is Harsh Agrawal?
Harsh is an online entrepreneur, a prolific blogger and one the most famous online personalities all across India. He is one of those people who has taken Indian blogging to the next level and proved it to be a worthwhile profession.
With an average income of 8000 dollars a month, he is certainly as good as it gets for Indian bloggers and is an avid inspiration to many aspiring bloggers and digital marketers.
His blog Shout me Loud which focuses on articles and posts regarding blogging tips, online marketing , SEO and other related stuff has over 400000 avid readers and over 17000 subscribers. Impressive isn’t it?
An engineer by profession, Harsh completed his high school in 2004 and earned his Engineering degree in 2008. Before becoming a professional blogger he was working for Convergys and was about to join Accenture but in April 2009, he made a decision to become a professional blogger and then everything changed!
Shout me Loud was initiated in the December of 2008 as a tech blog but as it journeyed forward, Harsh started to cover every aspect of online marketing. Soon the blog became extremely popular among other bloggers as they flocked in to learn the tricks of the trade and make a business out of their blogs. The traffic started growing and gradually Harsh Agrawal became the leading name when it came to Indian bloggers.
The blog has won the Indian Bloggers Award and is also featured in numerous media channels like Newspapers and magazines. What followed was a better life with more opportunities of success than Harsh would have had with the $300 per month job at Convergys.
Was it all a cherry-ride for Harsh?
Definitely not! Every success story may seem like a dream but in its core, each one is a nightmare until success actually happens. The same was with Harsh. He had his struggles and mishaps before rising to success.
The first income which Harsh received was $10. That can be disappointing for anybody. But with entrepreneurs it is always that thin chance of success which entices them and so was with Harsh. He started putting in more effort and learning about the online world of professional blogging. But then an accident happened!
Well, sometimes accidents can be blessings in disguise and that was the case with Harsh here. With the doctors prescribing complete rest for 6 months the only things entertaining him were his laptop and his blog on which he worked relentlessly for 14-16 hours a day. There was no stopping him then!
Today Harsh not only manages his own blog but also collaborates as a consultant and guide for other bloggers and digital firms to assist them in making their online presence better. Apart from Shout Me Loud, he also has added other blogs in his network like:
What does the future hold?
As a passionate blogger Harsh plans to continue blogging and help other bloggers find their niche. The main goal is to expand his blog to the next level and then the next again. The story has been a success so far and I hope it will continue to be so.
What is it that makes people like Harsh Agrawal create a buzz of their won and take the world by storm? I personally believe it is their attitude towards life and their passion towards what they like doing. Only with that kind of dedication can one decide on letting go off securities and shackles of a mundane life and become his own boss and live his life the way he wants to!
