Truelancer celebrated its 10th foundation anniversary on June 23, 2024.
From starting in a small 3-bedroom apartment to growing into a global platform that connects more than 2 million people in over 150 countries, Truelancer’s journey has been truly remarkable.
This milestone is a time to look back on the amazing progress made and all the efforts and achievements that brought us here.
About Truelancer : The Origin Story
Truelancer was founded in June 2014 by Mr Dipesh Garg and Mr Rajshekhar Rajahariya, with a vision to transform the freelancing landscape. They aimed to build a global platform from India for the world.
Mr. Dipesh Garg, a tech enthusiast, and Mr. Rajshekhar, an ethical hacker and growth marketer, created a platform where anyone, anywhere, could hire or find jobs and get paid.
Truelancer’s journey began in a humble 3-bedroom apartment in Delhi. The founders lived there, transforming their dining table into a work desk, and laying the foundation for a successful venture.
The founders along with their first tech hire, Mr Yajendra, worked tirelessly with the dream of building a global hiring platform.
Today, Truelancer has grown into a worldwide freelance network, connecting millions of users around the globe and continuing to empower freelancers and create opportunities worldwide.
The team started to grow with Mr Yajendra Singh joining in tech and engineering, followed by Prakarsh and Amit Maheshwari in customer partnership and sales respectively. Together, they laid the foundation for Truelancer’s success.
Growth & Profitability
In February 2017, Anu Singh joined Truelancer as a co-founder. She brought her expertise to the company, leading the HR operations and the Sales Team. Her dedication and strategic leadership were crucial to Truelancer’s success, helping the company become profitable and significantly increasing its revenues.
First Million: In 2018, Truelancer hit a major milestone by reaching 1 million registered users, marking a significant step in its journey.
Growing Team & Dreams: By June 2019, Truelancer’s team had expanded to over 20 talented individuals, necessitating a move to a larger office. Separate departments were established, enhancing efficiency and positioning the company for further growth.
The Covid Era: While the world faced unprecedented challenges, Truelancer discovered a new dimension of growth and resilience. And had the honor of onboarding their first enterprise client – Infosys.
This partnership was a significant milestone for Truelancer. Despite the global turmoil, the business grew exponentially, highlighting the essential role that freelancing and remote work play in the modern economy.
Truelancer continued to innovate, adapt, and evolve. More multi-billion dollar enterprise clients like Thermax were added to its portfolio. The marketplace also expanded significantly with more freelancers and clients recognizing Truelancer as a reliable and effective platform.
This growth is a clear indicator that more freelancers and clients see Truelancer as a reliable, efficient, and effective platform for their professional needs.
10th Foundation Anniversary Celebration
Venue
The 10th foundation anniversary celebration of Truelancer was held at the luxurious Radisson Hotel in Gurugram, setting the perfect stage for the grand event.
The entire banquet was adorned with customised themes and company props. From backdrop to welcome standee, from customised balloons to printed calendars – every corner cheered for the company’s growth and success.

The evening started with our super energetic anchor- Mr Tushar Bansal, warmly welcoming Guests. This sets the stage for an exciting and memorable celebration. The excitement at the venue was clear as everyone came together to celebrate this important milestone.

Team Introductions
Adding a touch of glamor, a ramp walk was organized, showcasing the style and confidence of our team members. It was a fun and vibrant segment that everyone enjoyed.
Time for Fun and Dancing
The fun continued with a series of entertaining games. Team members kicked off the excitement by sharing their experiences at Truelancer in creative and engaging ways. This was followed by more lively and interactive activities, keeping everyone entertained and engaged.
The dance floor then opened up, with everyone grooving to the beats of the DJ. The energy was infectious, and it was wonderful to see everyone letting loose and enjoying themselves.
Cake Cutting
The highlight of the evening was the cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the decade-long journey. The beautifully decorated cake was cut by the founders, marking this special occasion with sweetness and joy.
