Meet the Truelancer Crew
Entrepreneurship is a brave step. For a person, to leave all the comfort and security a steady job or source of income has to offer and delve deep into something almost only he believes in is indeed admirable. Pursuing their dreams, Dipesh Garg, Raj Shekhar Rajaharia, and Yajendra Singh (right to left), started Truelancer, a platform for freelancers to come together, find work, network and grow towards better futures. Something like this had not been done before on the Indian online scene and this vision makes them the rising entrepreneurs I have been blabbering about.
Over the recent years, more and more Indians have turned into successful entrepreneurs and have had a taste of it all, global success, name, fame and money. Start-ups like FlipKart, Zomato, and SnapDeal etc. have made it big and turned global with investments pouring in from all across the world.
They all have their inspirational stories told. It’s time we heard Truelancers.
Evident from the photos, these three are very simple people filled with humility and coming from very humble beginnings. Dipesh hails from Mount Abu, a small hill station in Rajasthan while Rajshekhar belongs to Jhunjhunu and Yajendra from Chittorgarh, in Rajasthan.
It is so incredible isn’t it, that three boys from small towns even many Indians may not have heard about come forward with one dream and use their sheer passion, drive and skill to execute it.
When asked why they left all the starry life of big organizations and came together to do this, Dipesh had only a line to say:
“Opportunities live in people and not in organizations”
Inspiring train of thought from the man who has himself been associated with numerous start-ups and helped them become successful ventures today, Dipesh is still a kid in many ways. He enjoys simple home-cooked food, and his idea of a party does not involve cocktails… that are “kid” enough for me. What matters is his passion to achieve this dream of making Truelancer a one stop platform for freelancers to grow with the fullest potential.
While Dipesh is the talkative one of the lot, Yajendra is quiet and to the point. This does not mean he is not friendly. Techies are a quiet bunch of people as it is. Having hands on experience with development frameworks in the past, Yajendra is the man behind the crucial aspects of Truelancer, technical to be specific.
Once I got friendly with him over our talk about social life and stuff, he became quite comfortable and opened up a bit more. From a humble middle class family (well that attribute is common to all three), he likes reading books. His current favourite is the Secret. I suggested him to take up The Godfather by Mario Puzo next, which he took too seriously as he is currently reading it!
Raj is go to guy of the group. He is the brains behind the security of the website and why not, after all, helping the government on a regular contractual basis to fight cyber-crime makes him the ideal person for the task. The only point was that he wanted to do something more, to be part of something more creative. That’s when Dipesh and he met and the concept of Truelancer took shape. Raj has some laudable achievements to his kitty. Having hacked Facebook nine times! Yes nine times, he has received awards for finding security bugs and providing solutions to them.
In their free time, these TRUELANCERS take to their interests. While Dipesh and Raj like to travel, Yajendra likes to get lost in his books. Currently, they so not get that much free time as, Truelancer is growing at a brisk pace so there is a lot of work. These three are early risers, something which I can never be, and work non-stop from early morning to late night. They like doing what they do and say, that is what keeps them going.
It is very mesmerizing to see these small town boys come out on top with just the power of their dreams and their passion to achieve it.
This proves the fact that it is not always money you need to fulfil all that you need. Like these lads, the determination and the will to forge something create and bring in a paradigm shift in the ways that things work, that is real success. Truelancer is poised to head towards greater heights.
As 2014 comes to an end and a new year begins, I wish them all the best and hope they keep their flames alive and prosper with Truelancer in the time to come.
