When did you start freelancing, and what inspired you?

I started Freelancing in the year 2012 during my graduation days. I got inspired during my childhood days when my father bought me classic novels. There, I developed an interest in reading. My interest in reading a diverse section of books helped me a lot with my writing skills. Despite being a lawyer, I never lost my interest in trying out-of-the-box things. As a result, I ended up writing for diverse subjects.

Writing gives me a sense of freedom and independence. Meeting new people and hearing their perspectives inspires me. I can express myself better through words – whether it’s politics, poetry, story-telling, academic papers, newsletters, or reports. Thankfully, I was able to write for renowned companies like Deloitte, Luxe Magazine U.K. at a very young age. Today, I have a strong base of clients from across the globe. I am currently the head-writer for creative culture in Belgium, and I continue to provide freelancing services to other companies for their legal documents, research reports, website content, etc. 

What do you like the most about Writing? 

The fascinating thing about writing is you never fall short of words if you are a well-reader. It is a powerful tool to express different human emotions and other scenarios. It further gives you a chance to think as a critique and not just follow the majority. It gives me a feeling of accomplishment when people can relate to my write-ups, as it leaves an everlasting impact on them.

What are the most important skills required as a content writer freelancer?

According to me, everyone has a writer within. One needs to be adaptive, explore, open to new learning experiences, possess the best research skills, SEO knowledge, and intense communication skills in the professional area of Content writing. If you are ready to push your limits and devote time to your writing career, first start reading books, newspapers, anything which will give you knowledge, there you can come up with a great piece of writing. If you consider these points, you can become a successful content writer irrespective of the nature of your field of study and profession. 

What are the challenges you have come across in your freelancing career?

In the beginning, I have faced criticism for my writing skills, but due to my ability to listen and make amendments, I ended up with some potential clients who still rely heavily on my writing work. Apart from this, there were times when people would not pay adequately for the quality of work delivered. 

Initially, I faced the problem of inadequate pay, but thankfully, I had clients from across the globe who were ready to pay a good amount for the time and effort invested by me. 

The writers should be respected and be paid adequately for their work because it takes a lot of hard work, passion, brainstorming, and time.

What according to you does it take to be a successful Content writer?

Great writers are observers, always taking mental notes and noting subtle changes around them. A good content piece is based on a fine balance of diligent research, wordplay, sound expertise, and of course, good vocabulary and grammar. Further, if one is willing to broaden his perspectives, he can still relate to the audience, and nothing can stop you from being a successful content writer.

What suggestions do you want to give to budding content writer freelancers? 

Do not fear any challenges. Keep trying your hands on versatile content. Don’t think that if you are writing non-technical articles, you cannot write technical articles. I have always pushed my limits and worked in a versatile environment as a content writer. This attitude has helped me improve my knowledge and skills. Lastly, you have a notebook in your head. Keep a record of subtle details, and never forget to tap into an emotion.

How did you get to know about freelancing and what is your experience using Turelancer?

 I learned about freelancing from my younger brother, who started his ghostwriting career during his college days. That helped me understand how I could utilise my writing skills for different companies across the globe and earn good pocket money to have a sense of independence even during my early college days.

 Truelancer has been a great platform that helped me connect with potential clients. I have been connected with Truelancer since inception, and they helped me grow as an individual.
