How to Sell and Earn more on Truelancer

June 6, 2015 by Jessee R

We are a leading freelancing platform, as you all know. With more than 150k freelancers, we started out- playing some international websites also. Check the list of freelancers and jobs; you will get to know what exactly I am talking about.

Nothing comes overnight. You have to make some effort in order to achieve the desired results. So, here in this post, you are going to know some tips and strategies which make you authentic on Truelancer. Being authentic means earning big $$$.

Ready for the kill? Here we go.

1. Complete Your Profile

This is the foremost step I suggest you to do. If you do so, getting works will no longer be a Herculean task.

Believe me, your profile is your magic wand to attract clients in our platform. So, have a complete profile and enjoy your busy schedule.

While completing your profile, bear the following points in mind.

  1. Use your real name.

Don’t make a fake identity. Even if you have a pen name, we prefer the real name. So be you.

  1. Use your photo as the profile picture.

You may be a person who constantly plays with sceneries and funny photos as the profile picture in FaceBook. But don’t show your editing skills and sense of humour here. Put your real picture as the profile pic.

The real face increases the chance of your proposal to get approved rather than a quote about freelancing.

  1. Don’t leave the Portfolio Field as Empty.

I assume that you are already familiar with the word, Portfolio. If you ask an experienced freelancer how you can get more clients, you will get this answer, “build a portfolio first”.

Yes, portfolio has that much importance in freelancing. Oops, still confused? Are you a newbie?

Sorry. Listen, a portfolio is a neat presentation of your previous works. Does it seem easy? Bu, to be frank, building a portfolio is not a walk in the park. You should give your maximum for it.

But, here we lessen your efforts by providing you with some fields to showcase your works. Every portfolio looks the same. So you don’t have to worry about the same of Tom or John.

  1. You should fill other fields like your expertise, project history and details about yourself. These details help the client know more about you which will indeed become a reason to be hired.

2. Try to Get Good Rating and Feedbacks by Doing Small Jobs

Slow and steady wins the race. Have you ever heard this proverb? Then I am sure you will understand what I am going to say.

At first, don’t expect a high pace of proposal approvals because, for the client, you are a newbie. They are in need of people who can deliver the final product in time. So they prefer experienced workers especially if the project is of big budget.

But we also have small jobs which invite newbies too. Hence, try to send proposals to them. If you have a complete profile, you will mostly get approved. Keep negotiating and fix on a rate the two of you agree. Start working. Try to finish the job as early as possible. This doesn’t mean you can compromise on quality. Bang on quality and dream of those endless biggies to come.

I am quite sure that your client will be impressed. You did a great job and sent the final thing before their deadline. What else on the earth an employer in Truelancer needs to dance with joy?

Through our useful system, both client and freelancer have to rate and give feedback to each other in order to finish the project. That means, you get a five star rating and a good review.

Try to repeat this for a month or two. Then, you will have enough feedback. It’s your time to hunt the biggies. You can undoubtedly start sending proposals for big budget projects and see what happens next. Whoa!

3. Let People Know that You are a Freelancer at Truelancer

This is one of the best ways to get more exposure to your profile. Use this method effectively to drive more eyeballs to your profile here.

Remember, not every client visits us daily. So it is your job to notify them that you will make a good addition to their project.

You may have a great following and friend circle on social media. Don’t hesitate even a single moment to share your profile and services there. Who on the earth can predict your golden moment? So keep doing this once or twice in a month. This will increase your profile views and chance to get works.

Maybe the viewers’ project is on the incubator. But still you will make way to their list by the promotional methods you adopt. Thus, your services may get purchased in future.

You can also comment on blogs with your profile link as URL. Another method is to let your online friends (those who already on Facebook) know when you chat or meet.

4. Upgrade to a Higher Membership Plan

There are six different types of membership plans you can take with us. They are free, intro, basic, regular, recommended and premium. As you read the name, the fifth one is recommended by most of our users.

Each one is entirely different in terms of features. Not a single feature is useless. Everything boosts your earning, I would say.

Service fee gets lessen when we go to higher plans. So higher the membership plan, greater will be your earning (lesser will be the service fee).

If you can do more works in a month, I strongly recommend you to upgrade because free plan only allows you to send 20 proposals per month while others allow more.

You can also see improvements in number of skills, portfolio slots, service listings etc. when going high.

That’s why I suggest you to upgrade. As you can see in the image, you will not cost more.

5. Buy Extra Proposals

If you have no plans to upgrade to a higher plan and still want to work more, then you should buy extra proposals.

There is an option to purchase extra proposals. By default, your free account can’t be used to work with more than 20 clients. Use this option to purchase more proposals and enjoy the bucks flowing.

Here also, you are not charged with a blade. We take only reasonable amount as fee. Check image.

Bonus Tip :-

6. Refer People and Get Benefited

Recently, we introduced a referral system with which you can make good profit. It is not at all a tough task.

Remember the point where I asked you to promote your service? We give you 10 credits to your account whenever you share a link that points to us.

We provide you with a unique referral link which gifts you 200 credits on every signup through it.

What do I mean about credits? Thinking? Well, these credits are points to your Truelancer account which can be used to feature your profile, service or buy extra proposals.

If your referral buy your service, you will get a bonanza offer what we call as Zero Fee Offer. That means you will not be charged a single penny as service fee. So, 100% money will reach your wallet. Hooray!

Boost Your Earning Now

That’s all I have to say. You have 6 different ways in front to double your earning from Truelancer.

Use these methods well and let me know how it works for you.
