Tell us about yourself?

Hello my name is Abhishek Pathak. I am final year IT Engineering student from Thakur college of Engineering, Mumbai. I am part time freelancer at the moment but plan on becoming a  full time freelancer once I complete my education.

 

When did you start freelancing?

I started freelancing in 2010 I am working on various big freelancing platforms providing SEO, social media and Graphic Designing Services

What do you like about being a freelancer?

The best thing about working as a freelancer is that I can work anytime as per my convenience. Another major benefit while working as a freelancer is that you get to be your own boss!

What are the challenges you have found in your freelancing career?

As I am still student i don’t get enough time to work. However I still manage whatever work I can complete.

The first year was really hard. I spent most of the time marketing and promoting myself, my skills and my services. Finding work was tough back then and it was hard to keep myself motivated.

This kind of career requires patience. I was determined to break through and achieve my goals and that kept my motivation uptight and unbreakable.

Also once you start getting work, managing schedules to ensure all the work meets the necessary milestones and deadlines becomes exceedingly difficult as the work increases in quantity. If you do not have a proper time and work management system you are bound to get frustrated. I was frustrated at the start but gradually I developed a system of managing my freelance portfolio.

However, if you have proper knowledge and can give high quality work, following deadlines like religion then you can impress anybody easily and build a strong network and get regular work.

What according to you does it take to be a successful freelancer?

Well according to me certain principles which I strictly follow should always be adhered to by freelancers.

• Deliver results that actually make a difference!

• Provide quick and friendly communication

• Go above and beyond what you promise

• Offer a fantastic post-work service – always ensure your Buyer is happy.

• Build long lasting relationships.

How did you get to know about Truelancer?

While searching for online website that provides freelancing opportunities, I found Truelancer.

What do you think about working on Truelancer?

I have worked for many freelancing website, but Truelancer is different from them. I can see more than 200+ people joining Truelancer daily. It is a very big platform for freelancers to get started and find some quality work. I have never got this type of response on any other freelancing website.

How is your experience being associated with Truelancer as a ‘freelancer’?

Working with Truelancer has been an awesome experience. If you offer good quality work, you will automatically get great response and you are bound to grow and make profitable connections. I have got very good response from the clients and my network has increased by leaps and bounds.

What do you like doing when you are not “Freelancing”?

I like blogging. I have my blog www.geekybuzz.com (currently under maintenance). It will be operational soon and feature a lot of my other writing interests.
