Therefore, translators to translate English to Malayalam are in high demand. A plethora of organizations needs all sorts of translation works. Such translators get handsome pay and a decent recognition.

Before we dive deeper into the world of translation, let us go through a few common terms.

Target Language and Source Language

The target language is the language into which the text is translated. Likewise, the language of origin is the language from which the text is translated. In most cases, the target language is the translator’s mother tongue.

Why Translate?

An immense amount of information exists in this world. The advancement of internet and mobile phone technology has brought this information straight to one’s table or fist.

A barrier comes, when the information is not in one’s native language that the acquirer understands. Access to such information can boost the businesses, knowledge, teaching, and many other such things.

Translating does not only involve the literal conversion of the text from the source language to target language. It also consists of transformation tasks. The text should adapt to the culture of the target audience.

The Translation Process

A series of multiple steps are involved in the process of translation. One needs to assess the clarity of the document. Clear the ambiguities from the source organization.

The translator begins translating the information in the target language once these irregularities are redressed.
After the translator translates the document, the reviewer checks and edits the translated text. The translator needs to make sure that the information is relevant to the target audience.

The translator normalizes the translated text accordingly and makes it consistent. He then removes all anomalies and converts literal translations into pertinent information.

In the case of disagreements, discussions are taken up between the translator and the reviewer, and the text is edited until both agree to the changes made. After this process, the client receives the document. The customer is again at liberty to ask for any variations in the translated text. Apart from accuracy, relevance plays a crucial role in the entire process.

Cost

The market of translation depends on the demand of the language and the volume of traffic that language. Frequently, the number of words in the source document estimates the translation. Apart from that, common factors such as the level of urgency, technical nature of the desired subject, the popularity of the language, availability of translators in the market, the number of files and many different factors matter.

Types of Jobs

The whole process requires two people in prominent roles, the translator, and the reviewer. Both should be fluent in the target language with a common understanding of the source language. Also, the process can be further broken down into subtasks as per the complexity of the text.
