Digital Superstars- Pat Flynn
Every revolution has its share of superstars. The internet revolution coupled with the meteoric rise of social media and digital marketing has given birth to quite a lot of stalwarts. In this series we look at some these digital superstars who have left their imprint on the virtual world.
Once such online biggie is Pat Flynn
A humble employee of an architecture firm, Pat was happy with his secure job and subtle life until he got laid off like many others during the recession of 2008. What he may have not realised at the time was that his life was about to change forever.
Before he was laid off, he prepared for his architecture licence by blogging about what he read and studied. This enabled him to learn all that there was to WordPress and the world of blogging. After the job cut, the real Pat Flynn started to emerge as he started realizing the increasing traffic which was coming to his blog and it didn’t take him much time to realize the potential that it had.
Soon he added Google AdSense to his site and also started inviting private ads. In no time he was earning $1500 a month. Sometime later he published his e-book and sold 10 copies on the first day. The time was about to change soon. He then bought a domain and started the Smart Passive Income blog where he started writing about how to earn online and how he earned online being fully transparent about his income and investments. The blog caught on a lot of traction and is one the most popular blogs on the internet today.
Pat earns an average of 70,000 dollars a month! SUPER … RIGHT?
When you visit his site, I guarantee you will be hooked from the start. Basically he writes and speaks about earning online and earns doing that. His influence can be felt by the long list of subscribers he has on his website and on his social profiles.
What is clearly evident that no matter what the field you want to be successful in you always have to keep a few pointers in mind:
- There is no success without struggle. You will be pushed to limits which can break you but keep in mind that in time if you persevere and hold on to your goals, gradually success will follow.
- Failure is the ladder you have to climb if you want to be successful.
- Networking, Sharing and transparency are always an integral part of moving forward efficiently.
- Opportunities can present themselves in the most inopportune of times so always keep your eyes open.
Pat is a living example of how patience and the right strategy can ensure your success. Today he is his own boss, works whenever he wants and spends quality time with his family and earns a whole lot than the many top notch CEOs who are working their brains out every day.
There are others like Pat who have emerged as todays digital superstars and we will showcase them in our upcoming posts.
Stay tuned for updates and keep yourself motivated.
