9 Top Internet Based Start-ups from India to watch in 2015

March 17, 2017 by Jessee R

21

Over the past few years, we have seen quite a lot of Indian start-ups grow and make their mark on the Indian as well as the global scene. Ventures like FlipKart, Zomato, and Snapdeal etc. have evolved from 1 room offices to globally expanding organizations with a workforce of over thousand people.

This has been made possible largely by the internet and the opportunities and platforms it has provided us Indians with to explore ideas and experiment with them with very less cost of capital as compared to other hard core and brick and mortar sectors.

What I think is that the scenario has not peaked yet and the curve is still on the rise. Thus we are bound to see more innovative and unique ideas taking shape and writing their own success stories in the time to come.

As far as 2015 is concerned let’s look at what I think are 9 top start-ups to keep an eye on:

Cucumbertown

22

Founders: Cherian Thomas, Arun Prabhakar, Chris Luscher, Dan Hauk

Cucumbertown is an online network of cooks and chefs. A very unique concept isn’t it? As Tumblr is to blogging, Cucumbertown is to cooking. It provides cooks and culinary enthusiasts to come online share their talents, skills and dishes and gather a following thus, giving them a chance towards online stardom.

It has received quite a row of investments mostly from abroad which shows that investors see a lot of potential in this platform. Well, a platform which provides an opportunity for talented people to showcase their talent is worth a while. Therefore, it makes our list as one of the top rising start-ups in India.
