International CES which is more commonly known as Consumer Electronics Show is a renowned electronics and tech trade show all across the globe since 1967 (the year of its inception). It is held in January each year at Las Vegas Convention Centre, in Las Vegas Nevada. The CES 2015 concluded just days back and had some very weird and uncanny innovations which brought in much applause. Although it is not open to public, we could get some information just for you about the top innovations at CES this here.
Here are our Picks
FitLinxx- AmpStrip
This is dream come true for heart patients, and people who like tracking their fitness 24*7. It’s the size of a Band-Aid and has to be taped to the body like one. Then its receptors will measure your heart activity around the clock and send the data to your smartphone on iOs/Android using an app.
It is hugely popular which is indicated by the crowd-funding which forms its base. It is set to be launched in July this year.
Sevenhugs HugsOne
Sleep concerns are rising all across the globe and people are being attracted towards the idea of monitoring their families’ sleep cycles and thus enter the HugsOne. It monitors your entire family’s sleep through sleep sensors called mini hugs that log information to the HugsOne, which is the central hub. It monitors air quality, and can be used to control it by connecting it to a smart thermostat. I believe this is going to be hugely popular after its official launch.
Giroptic
Ever thought of 360 degree photography coming true!
Photographers dreamed about such a thing and kickstarter has made their dream come true by showcasing the Giroptic at CES this year. It is the world’s first full HD 360 Degree camera. The device has three fish-eye lenses, which are synchronised to simultaneously capture and stitch images in real time. It has three modes – photo, video and live-video, and has a whole bunch of accessories to further diversify its use.
iONSnapCam
Another innovation from Apple, this is a camera that you can wear. It’s loaded with tech and can record two hours of HD videos or take 5,000 pictures on one charge. You can also set it to broadcast mode and live-stream an event over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This gadget has the potential to go viral.
Avegeant Glyph
Well the name can be tough to bring to mouth but the features of these noise-cancelling headphones are worth the tongue-twisters. They are doubles up with wearable display with eye-pieces tucked into the head-band. The Glyph can easily display content from any smartphone, TV, gaming console and tablet. Priced at $499, this cool toy supports stereoscopic 3D.
The Glyph may turn out to be an Achilles heel for the premium headphone makers like Sennheiser or JBL as they will be forced to offer more for a lot less.
D-Link AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi Router
Everybody loves high speed Wi-Fi. Imagine a router as cheap as $300 which could provide speeds up to 1.3 Gbps! Staggering isn’t it?
Well, the D-Link AC3200 does just that for you. It is till date the fastest router ever made. It has six antennas and five gigabit Ethernet ports which guarantee an internet experience which is as smooth as melted butter.
HP Stream Mini
Ever thought of a PC smaller than a laptop? Well, HP has managed to surprise us again with their two inch tall HP stream mini, a PC priced at $180. Weighing only 725 grams, it has a 1.4 GHz Celeron Processor, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB solid state storage, DisplayPort and HDMI sockets, four USB 3.0 Ports and an SD card slot. That much in just 11 inches! I would love to see the product when it’s launched.
It also supports Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 4.0. To top it all up and leave you utterly astounded, it comes loaded with Windows 8.1 and 200 GB on OneDrive cloud storage free for two years. That is bound to make you attracted to this small bombshell of modern computing.
Well, all these gadgets are bound to catch on when they are officially made public. This is no surprise as CES has had the reputation to launch generation defining gadgets and tech for a long time. Some of the greatest innovations which have come from CES in the past years are the VCR (1970), Compact Disc Drive or CD (1991), High Definition Television or HDTV (1998), Xbox (2001), Blu-ray (2003) and a lot more.
